Community Information - the key to better social outcomes
One of the biggest challenges² facing communities is access to consistent and accurate information of local, regional and state-wide services, clubs and community organisations.
The internet …is a way of life … with its unique ability to Connect People to information and each other”³
CISS Mission
Access to online information and tools bridges the distance between urban, rural and remote areas, providing access to a wider range of opportunities, promoting effective service delivery and empowering individuals. CISS supports the development of the technological Infrastructure required to assist communities in areas of identified need. Community Infrastructure is often seen as a bricks and mortar issue, however “soft” or “online” community infrastructure is essential to improve social outcomes particularly when remoteness or isolation of service delivery is required. CISS provides the Australian public free and readily accessible information relating to the delivery of Australian Community Services to enable improved access to assistance and improve the quality of assistance provided by the Community Sector to their clients.
