Welcome!

Community Information Support Services  is a Not-for-Profit social enterprise established to support the health and well being of Australians.

Our vision is to see the generation of better health and social outcomes across Australia by improved access to high quality community information.

Our mission is to provide all Australians with access to the information they need to improve the health and wellness of their communities on a local, regional and national level.

We support the coordination of health and wellness activities in local communities and provide ways that the public and service providers can work together. We have focused our activities to support people who are vulnerable to disease and isolation in the community including:

1)      People who struggle with their mental health
2)      Older Australians
3)      Young parents
4)      Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
5)      People with chronic disease
6)      People with a disability

We do this through two websites, with plans to link them into an exciting joint platform, My Community Directory and My Community Diary. We actively develop and provide practical frameworks, guidelines and resources for the public, community organisations, councils and government to work together with people who are vulnerable.

We work directly with health and community sector organisations, government agencies such as Hospital and Health Services and other professionals to provide ways of supporting people to prevent disease and promote the management of disease in Australian communities. We are also committed to providing access to our library of online data for Information Technology experts to create solutions that improve health and social outcomes for the Australian community.

To facilitate access and exchange of information, CISS has developed the Australian Community Data Standard (ACDS).  The ACDS provides a framework for interoperability between Community Sector data and other data sources. Providing widespread access to Community Sector information is an essential element in driving positive social change.

Quality Health and Community Services Information - the key to better social outcomes
